As we begin the new year many of us are also making our New Year’s resolutions. We think you should add some that will not only help your overall health but your smile too! Check out our five suggestions that will help your smile this year. 

 

1. Wear your retainer.

Wearing your retainer regularly may seem like a small thing to do but it will make some big differences for you if you’re consistent. Not only will you continue to have that beautiful smile that you love, but it will save you from having to get braces a second time! Making this a resolution will save you valuable time, and money.

 

2. Always wear a mouthguard.

Whether you’re a full-on athlete or just someone who plays occasional contact sports, wearing a mouthguard will help prevent serious injury. We want you to have a beautiful smile and still be able to play your favorite sports, that’s why we can even help you get aa custom-fitted mouthguard. Simply call or stop by our office to get one made for you or your child.

 

3. Stay away from harmful foods.

Staying away from super sticky foods or ones that might cause harm to your braces will prevent more visits to our office. You’ll feel better too because you’ll be eating healthier foods. 4. Floss every night.

It’s simple but the benefits can be huge! Flossing can be a difficult daily task, especially with braces, but the benefits are too plentiful. We’ll help you with this resolution, simply ask for some free floss threaders during your next visit to our office. 

 

5. Brush your teeth after every meal.

Bacteria tend to hang out where there is leftover food, so do your mouth a favor and brush after every meal! If you currently use Invisalign, you probably already use to this routine and we’ll bet that you’ve enjoyed the benefits. Make it a goal to keep those pearly whites pearly!
